Coastal Community Foundation is answering the call to unify future generations of philanthropists by creating a young philanthropists network—our Bridge Philanthropists. The mission of this group is to educate and connect the next generation to a culture of philanthropy through civic, social and community engagement. Bridge will serve as a collective voice for young philanthropists in the Lowcountry.
INTERESTED IN TAKING ON A LEADERSHIP ROLE?
The group’s steering committee, our Bridge Builders is made up of three sub-committees:
Our Community Partnership Committee provides an opportunity for young philanthropists to have a place at the table and a voice in planning our Civic Engagement Agenda, where they will gain broadened perspectives concerning community initiatives and the socioeconomic and political landscape of the region.
Members of the Grantmaking Committee will have opportunities to influence and make impactful and positive change in the nonprofit community through grantmaking. They will also be responsible for creating and monitoring a partially-endowed “Future Fund,” from which half of all contributions will be invested and half will be immediately grantable.
The Peer Engagement Committee will focus on cultivating new membership and team building through networking and community engagement events.
Our Bridge Philanthropists Launch Party is open to the public and will take place on Thursday, September 28th from 6:00-8:00 pm at South State Bank, 46 Broad Street in downtown Charleston. If you would like to attend the Launch Party or want to learn more about getting involved, email Keisha Myco at [email protected].
