Coastal Community Foundation Expands Capacity with Three New Hires

June 7, 2018 by CCF

CHARLESTON, S.C.June 7, 2018 – Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) has added two new roles to its staff roster to expand organizational capacity – Controller, and Human Resources and Operations Officer – and has appointed a new Director of Development to the Development and Stewardship team. This appointment follows the promotion of the Foundation’s former Director of Development, Melissa Levesque to the position of Vice President of Development and Stewardship. These individuals join the staff at a pivotal moment for the Foundation – as it implements a new strategic framework that includes a more focused commitment to making a concentrated, positive impact on coastal South Carolina by united people and investing resources.

“As I reach just over two years with the Foundation, we are rounding out our capacity to fulfill our purpose with these two new positions,” said Darrin Goss, Sr. “These new roles coupled with the addition of Sheffield Webb as Director of Development will build our capacity to provide best-in-class donor stewardship while also expanding our ability to work with professional advisors and our corporate partners who partner with us in our Community Partnership and Corporate Advised Fund program.”

Controller, Herman Goins will serve as the primary accounting and tax manager for the Foundation and its supporting organizations. Goins’ extensive background in public accounting and bank taxation brings a wealth of finance process experience to CCF as he manages the Foundation’s financial and accounting processes – including audit, budgeting, tax and financial reporting. Most recently, Goins served as a Senior Tax Manager at Beauston & Woodham, LLP in North Charleston. He holds a B.S. from Wake Forest University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Human Resources and Operations Officer, David Galvin began his career in nonprofit resource development before focusing on his specialty of human resources. Most recently, he managed human resources and operations at a large retail department store with 200+ employees. As an experienced HR professional, Galvin has achieved the SHRP-CP certification and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management. He has experience in a large range of HR competencies, including recruitment, training and performance management. He holds an MBA from Georgia Southern University.

Director of Development, Sheffield Webb will serve as an integral member of the Development and Stewardship team at CCF. In this role, he will cultivate, develop and nurture relationships with corporations and individuals to continuously increase asset development for the Foundation. Having served with media companies such as CBS Radio and Nationwide Communications, and as Director of Corporate Partnerships with the Cleveland Indians, DC United Soccer and the National Gold Course Owners Association, he brings 30 years of experience to this role.
