Coastal Community Foundation announces 2018 Specialized Cycle Grantees from the REALTORS® Housing Opportunities Fund (RHOF) and the Webb-Croft Educational Fund

Funding will support students with special needs and affordable housing initiatives in the Tri-County

CHARLESTON, S.C.April 3, 2018 – Coastal Community Foundation (CCF), a grantmaking foundation dedicated to serving coastal South Carolina, is pleased to announce its grantees for the REALTORS® Housing Opportunities Fund (RHOF) and the Charles Webb-Ed Croft Endowment Fund through its 2018 Specialized Grant Cycle.
The REALTORS® Housing Opportunities Fund (RHOF) has awarded $22,700 to five local organizations addressing affordable housing in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties. This cycle’s funded projects will support a variety of nonprofit programs addressing areas such as weatherization, repair, and access to homeownership.
Established in 2003 as a fund of Coastal Community Foundation by the Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS®, RHOF distributes grants biannually to Lowcountry organizations who assist in the development, maintenance, or repair of housing for those whose dreams of homeownership are challenged by economic disadvantage. RHOF has awarded more than $946,000 since its founding.
The Charles Webb-Ed Croft Endowment has awarded $93,300 to 13 organizations serving children with special needs in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. This cycle’s funded projects will support public school visits, regional Special Olympics, and Spanish-speaking interpreters, as well as provide general operating support to many organizations—an important building block of nonprofit capacity. This year, over 50 percent of all grantees received general operating support, a building block of nonprofit capacity.
The Endowment was created by the Board of Directors of the Charles Webb Center in 1994 to provide grants to benefit children with special needs in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties. To date, the Endowment has granted more than $1.3 million to organizations serving children with special needs. Grants are recommended by an Advisory Committee consisting of members who each have specialized expertise in working with children who have special needs.
