A fire damaged a historic North Charleston school 6 years ago. Work to revive it has finally begun.

The Costal Community Foundation contributed $1.5 million to help close on the project. The loan is part of the foundation’s Place-Based Impact Investment program aimed to achieve positive social impacts and financial returns.
