Coastal Community Foundation and Trident United Way Prepare to Help Those Impacted by Tropical Storm Debby

Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) and Trident United Way (TUW) stand ready to help those impacted by Tropical Storm Debby. Since 2023, a partnership between CCF and TUW has provided coordinated fundraising efforts to the overlapping counties that both organizations support (Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties). CCF also supports an additional six coastal counties as part of its nine-county footprint (Beaufort, Colleton, Georgetown, Hampton, Horry, and Jasper).

“As two leading community organizations, Coastal Community Foundation and Trident United Way can see the big picture of storm damage and the support needed,” said CCF President and CEO Darrin Goss, Sr. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Trident United Way to quickly and efficiently link donors and the nonprofits with boots on the ground.”

“Trident United Way and Coastal Community Foundation have always been strong partners that share a mission to support our community in times of greatest need,” said Trident United Way President and CEO DJ Hampton. “This joint fund will not only amplify the resources we are able to direct to the community, it will also offer caring community members a streamlined storm relief program where they can donate to help impacted neighbors when time is of the essence.”

CCF and TUW are both among the Volunteer Organizations Assisting with Disaster Relief (VOADs) and continuously work in collaboration with organizations providing direct services. All donations to this fund go directly toward disaster relief. Any administrative fees are covered by Trident United Way and CCF’s Community Partnership Program. If relief is not necessary following the current storm, donations will remain in the fund for future recovery efforts. Contribute to the Lowcountry Disaster Relief Fund through CCF here or through TUW here. If you wish to designate your donation for a specific region, please enter that information in the special instructions section of the donation form.
