NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) is pleased to announce Dana Taylor as the new Vice President of Philanthropy.

In this role, Taylor is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the Foundation’s philanthropic goals. This includes expanding the network of donors, professional advisors, and community partners, and nurturing existing relationships. She will serve as an internal advocate for donors and ensure their best interests are reflected in decision-making. Taylor comes to CCF with a deep knowledge of planned giving strategy and will keep the Foundation informed of federal, state, and local policy decisions that could impact philanthropy.

“I am looking forward to immersing myself in the work that CCF is doing in our coastal counties. The Foundation has established itself as a premier organization that partners with and advises donors on the greatest needs facing our communities. I am energized by the opportunity to join an incredible organization that has a vision for real and lasting change,” Taylor said. “My career experience has taught me the value of merging the passion and interest a donor has in making a lasting impact with strategies that meet the greatest needs of our communities. There is an art to listening deeply to a donor’s motivation and vision and pairing that passion with the initiatives that will transform a community.”

Dana Taylor is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and has a proven track record of major fundraising success for statewide organizations. She served as the Senior Director of Gift and Estate Planning for both the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and Clemson University’s Office of Alumni Relations, raising $112 million in total in those roles.  She is the current President of the South Carolina Planned Giving Council, which supports fundraising education, training, and networking for nonprofits in the region. Earlier in her career, Taylor worked as a financial advisor and private banker. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Clemson University and a master’s degree in leadership and organizational administration from Furman University.

“Bringing Dana Taylor on board is integral to the future success of Coastal Community Foundation,” said Darrin Goss, Sr., the Foundation’s President and CEO. “Her career combines experience in both financial and fundraising roles, which will be an asset in our endowed philanthropy model. She has the expertise to educate our donor base about giving strategies and the most effective ways to meet their philanthropic goals. Plus, her leadership in fundraising will expand our ability to invest more capital in projects advancing the long-term success of our region.”
