Volunteer with CCF: grantmaking and scholarship committees

Coastal Community Foundation provides resources, financial and otherwise, for nonprofits along the coast of South Carolina as well as scholarships for local students. For several of our funds, we rely on committees of volunteer community members to review applications from nonprofits seeking grants and students seeking scholarships and recommend where funding should be directed.

The foundation is looking for volunteers to serve on our grantmaking and scholarship committees. Committee members read and score applications from local nonprofits or students using a rubric, and may participate in site visits with nonprofit applicants to learn more about their work. For some committees, we’ll facilitate a meeting with the volunteers to review applications from nonprofits seeking grants and students seeking scholarships and recommend where funding should be directed

If you are interested in learning more about volunteering with CCF, we encourage you to fill out our volunteer interest form. Once you provide your information, a member of our staff will reach out within two weeks to learn more about your interests, and to share additional information about our committee process and potential opportunities.
