Funding up to $1,500 open to Tri-County projects that support regular physical activity for a healthy lifestyle
CHARLESTON, S.C.: September 3, 2015 – The Cooper River Bridge Run Fund of Coastal Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2015-2016 grant cycle. Started in 2006, the Fund distributes grants ranging from $500-$1,500 for projects that support the group’s mission of “the promotion of regular physical activity for a healthy lifestyle.”
All 501(c)(3) organizations, government programs, schools, and houses of worship located in and serving residents of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants requesting funding for a specific program to raise public awareness concerning the importance of consistent exercise, provide a means for this physical exercise, or increase the ability for underserved populations to participate in the spring Cooper River Bridge Run. Ideally, the proposal will also bring new participants to the Cooper River Bridge Run in 2016 and future years.
Applications, which require a one-page form as well as a program description, budget, and predicted outcome, must be submitted to grants@coastalcommunityfoundation.org by October 9, 2015. Following a careful review by the CRBR Grants Committee, applicants will be informed of funding recommendations by December 2015.
For specific requirements and applications, visit our list of grants. Please contact Danica Whitney at danica@coastalcommunityfoundation.org with any questions regarding the application.
