Empower Charleston Announces Six Local Nonprofits Participating at October 17 Showcase

Empower Charleston is pleased to announce the six nonprofits participating in the Showcase of Nonprofits on October 17. The organizations selected include: Amor Healing Kitchen, Beyond BASIC, Charleston RISE, E3 Foundation, Lowcountry Youth Services, and Wake Up Carolina. The Showcase is the culmination of the 2024 Investment Cycle, which is driven and executed by Empower Charleston Partners.

At the Showcase event, the six organizations will take the stage to share their story in front of the Charleston philanthropic community at The Cedar Room and have the opportunity to receive matching funds and co-investments. Each organization will receive pitch training, coaching, and mentoring on how to tell their stories succinctly and powerfully. This year, Empower Charleston is partnering with Dr. Alexis Carrerio, The Pitch Prof. As a pitch, presentation, and public speaking coach, Dr. Carrerio has worked with individuals and teams at HBO, Ally, Microsoft to strategically use vocal, body language, and story to enhance their pitch emotionally. Each executive director will then be matched with Empower Charleston Partner Pitch Coaches all leading up to the October 17 event.

“After a thorough process of diligence and evaluation, we are honored to showcase six local nonprofits worthy of support for their impact in our community,” said Empower Charleston Chair, Jessica Williford.
