Grant Applications Now Available for The Beaufort Fund of Coastal Community Foundation

Funding of up to $15,000 available for nonprofits serving Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton or Jasper counties; apply by August 12

CHARLESTON, SCJune 2, 2016 – Grant applications are now open for The Beaufort Fund, a competitive grant program of Coastal Community Foundation. Funding is available for charitable programs throughout the Foundation’s Southern Lowcountry region of Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life in these communities by supporting the network of nonprofits across the region. First-round applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12th.
Grant requests of up to $15,000 will be accepted from any 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, as long as its work benefits citizens in the Southern Lowcountry. Grants are generally directed to provide support in six program areas: arts, education, environment, health, human needs and neighborhood/community development. Organizations may only submit one request per grant cycle.
Decisions about grants from The Beaufort Fund are made by Coastal Community Foundation per recommendations from an Advisory Committee made up of Southern Lowcountry residents. Applications are available on Coastal Community Foundation’s online grant portal. Instructions on how to register for the portal and a link to it are available at https://coastalcommunityfoundation.org/grants/list-of-grants/.
Registration approval for the online grant portal can take up to two business days. In-person opportunities to register for the portal will be made available later this summer by Foundation staff. Please contact Ali Titus with any questions regarding the application process or in-person registration opportunities at Ali@coastalcommunityfoundation.org or (843) 793-6035 X101 (Charleston Office).
Started in 1998 by an anonymous multi-million-dollar gift, The Beaufort Fund has since awarded $7.5 million in grants to nonprofits across the Southern Lowcountry.
