Home Community Fund of Coastal Community Foundation Announces $30,000 in Awards

Annual program supported 12 nonprofits in Home Telecom’s service area for 2015

CHARLESTON, S.C.: December 2, 2015 – The Home Community Fund of Coastal Community Foundation has announced $30,000 in awards for the 2015 grant cycle. These grants will benefit 12 nonprofits working in Home Telecom’s service area of Berkeley County.
Because the Fund is open to nonprofits serving all charitable areas, Home Telecom grantees vary greatly. One grantee, Berkeley County Rescue Squad, is a first responder organization focused largely on water missions. Their grant allowed them to purchase new life jackets for all volunteer first responders. Clap Your Hands, another grantee, provides therapeutic products to Tri-County children with cognitive and physical disabilities free of charge. Their grant will go towards general operating support to purchase supplies for their handmade weighted blankets, vests and other products.
Home Community Fund was established in 2002 to create a permanent charitable resource for nonprofits serving residents of or located in Berkeley County. Grantees received between $1,000-3,000 in funding.
