Registration Opens For Lowcountry Giving Day ‘16 For All Coastal Nonprofits

CHARLESTON, SC – January 7, 2016Registration for Lowcountry Giving Day ‘16 has opened for any 501 (C)3 nonprofit in the 9
county area served by Coastal Community Foundation (CCF). New this year, Lowcountry Giving Day on May 3rd will be open to any registered nonprofit in the service area with a goal of uniting Lowcountry citizens, merchants and nonprofits to make the coastal community a better place to live, grow, create and learn through a spirit of generosity and collaboration.
Also new this year, merchants, employers, and individuals can sign up as a Catalyst. Community Catalysts can match employee donations, create giveaways for participants, and match donations to specific nonprofits they choose.
“We want to get everyone in the community involved this year. Businesses can host parties and reward participants with discounts or goodies. Employers, foundations, and individuals can sign up to match others’ donations and leverage their impact,” said Jenny Sanford, Growth Guru for Bidr.
Lowcountry Giving Day powered by local tech company Bidr with CCF as Sponsor and SCANPO as training partner is making its focus this year on Lowcountry unity.
“No matter the size or cause, we believe that all nonprofits should feel welcome to participate with or without matching funds,” said Bidr Founder Sam Staley, “and we are placing great emphasis this year on united community involvement through the use of Catalysts to spur local giving.”
Register as a nonprofit or a community Catalyst for Lowcounry Giving Day at www.lowcountrygivingday.org through May 3rd. The site has plenty of information and ideas including an LGD16 Toolkit for nonprofits and one for Catalysts as well. By March 1st the site will also include a complete grid with all participating nonprofits and merchants and details about any incentive funds or challenges available.
Training sessions for Lowcountry nonprofits will be hosted by SCANPO beginning January 12th and formal kickoff sessions for nonprofits will be held by CCF and Bidr in early February.
