Robert A. Nigro, Private Investor Joins Coastal Community Foundation Board of Directors

CHARLESTON, SCWednesday, March 14, 2018 – Coastal Community Foundation (CCF), a grantmaking foundation dedicated to serving coastal South Carolina, is pleased to welcome Robert A. (Bob) Nigro, private investor and retired executive to its Board of Directors.
Nigro began his career in the securities industry in 1972 and is experienced in diverse investment securities and investment management. After many years, principally with The First Boston Corporation where he was a managing director, he joined SEI Investments as a Senior Vice President before becoming CEO of SEI Capital AG of Zurich in 1995.
Nigro’s experience in the financial markets has been an asset to CCF for the past eleven years, during which he served as a volunteer on the Foundation’s Investment Committee. In July 2018, he will assume the role of Investment Committee Chair.
“For over a decade, Bob’s role as a volunteer on our Investment Committee has been instrumental to the stewarding of Coastal Community Foundation’s assets—and in the past year, we’ve seen his commitment to our equity and inclusion policy impact the way we work with our consultants,” said Darrin Goss, Sr., President and CEO of CCF. “We look forward to seeing how his expertise will shape the Foundation’s commitment to our community and its needs.”
“Bob’s years of service to the Foundation have translated to substantial growth in our investment portfolio, which feeds into the impact CCF is able to make on our region,” said the Foundation’s VP of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Christa Divis. “As Chair, we look forward to Bob adding even more to the direction of our investments.”
Bob said, “I have enjoyed my affiliation with CCF’s Investment Committee and working alongside my extremely capable colleagues. I look forward to continuing the sound leadership shown by my predecessors while increasing my involvement with the vital role CCF plays in our region and its potential to fund positive change in communities and reshape lives.”
Bob is married to Lee Anne Taylor. The couple has resided in Kiawah Island since 2004 and has two adult children. Beyond his involvement on CCF’s Board and Investment Committee, Bob is a part of committees serving several local organizations, including MUSC Hollings Cancer Center and the Charleston Animal Society.
