On November 20, 2002, James and Mary-Bern Decker created the Decker Family Fund, a partially-endowed donor-advised fund. The fund gave back to organizations such as Grace Episcopal Church, American Red Cross Carolina Lowcountry Chapter, Spoleto Festival, Trident United Way, Crisis Ministries, and many more. When establishing the fund James and Mary-Bern established a section that upon the passing of the two founding donors the fund will become a fully-endowed scholarship fund. As we remember both James and Mary, we cannot help but share our gratitude for their continued generosity.
James Decker passed away on March 3, 2011, and Mary-Bern Decker passed away on April 7, 2017. In continuing their legacy, the Decker Family Fund has been transitioned into a fully-endowed scholarship with a focus on higher education for students from TCF’s service area. It is donors like James and Mary-Bern who leave a legacy, and truly make a lasting impact.
