Established in 1998, this fund will be used to award an annual scholarship to a high school senior who intends to pursue a college education, whose primary residence is in Berkeley County, S.C., and who is a member of an A.M.E. church. There is a preference for African-American students, and students who are members of Mt. Carmel A.M.E. Church in Moncks Corner are especially encouraged to apply.

Average award: $550

Criteria for eligibility

  • Applicants must be college-bound high school seniors from Berkeley County who are members of an A.M.E. Church.

Application process and schedule

  • Applications can be completed online beginning mid-January. Each applicant will only complete one application and the online system will automatically pair you with scholarships for which you are eligible. The deadline for all applications to be submitted, including letters of recommendation, is mid-March. All applicants will be contacted regarding their application status by early July.  Specific deadlines can be found on our scholarship portal each year, which can be accessed through the “Apply” button on our Scholarships for Current High School Seniors page.
