Editorial: As Coastal Community Foundation turns 50, let’s celebrate and rededicate

Almost everyone who is halfway through middle age wouldn’t mind having $491 million in the bank, which is the fortunate position that the Coastal Community Foundation finds itself in as it marks its 50th anniversary this year. It’s now the largest grantmaking organization in South Carolina, and as it looks to the next 50 years, it wants to help more people understand that philanthropy isn’t only for the rich.
