The Charles-Webb Ed Croft Endowment Fund is a grant program aimed at improving the lives of children with special needs in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties. The fund was established to honor the legacy of Charles Webb and Ed Croft, who founded the Charles Webb Center in the 1930s to support children with special needs throughout the Berkeley- Charleston-Dorchester region.

Average award: up to $10,000.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. Jan. 15, or the next business day if that date falls on a weekend.

Criteria for eligibility

  • Organizations in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties serving children with special needs.

Application process and schedule

  • Grant applications are reviewed and recommended by an advisory committee comprised of volunteers who have personal connections to individuals with special needs. Applications are reviewed by the committee from late January to early February. Select groups may receive a site visit and/or follow-up questions, with final decisions announced in early April.
