D. Ward and Gladys S. Wilson Scholarship Endowment
Established in 2014, this Fund awards an annual scholarship to a high school senior who attends an A.M.E. Church and intends to pursue a college education. There is a preference for students who attend Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Charleston, followed by Morris Brown A.M.E. Church in Charleston. Students who are members of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Charleston are especially encouraged to apply. Multiple awards will be made.
Average award: $500-$1,000

Applicants must be college-bound high school seniors who attend an A.M.E. Church.
Application process and schedule

Applications can be completed online beginning mid-January. Each applicant will only complete one application and the online system will automatically pair you with scholarships for which you are eligible. The deadline for all applications to be submitted, including letters of recommendation, is mid-March. All applicants will be contacted regarding their application status by early July. Specific deadlines can be found on our scholarship portal each year, which can be accessed through the “Apply” button on our Scholarships for Current High School Seniors page.
