Established in 1999 by Donna Reyburn and Michael Griffith to provide annual scholarships to seniors at St. John’s High School, Burke High School, Charleston County School of the Arts, and Academic Magnet High School who demonstrate the potential to succeed in college, high academic motivation, and the initiative and drive to help finance his or her college education by having worked and by having applied for other loans and scholarships. Two awards will be made, renewable throughout college, if certain conditions are met. (Available only if present winners do not renew).

Average award: $2,000

Criteria for eligibility

  • Applicants must be seniors at St. John’s High School, Burke High School, Charleston County School of the Arts, or Academic Magnet High School, have professional work experience and be applying to other scholarships.

Application process and schedule

  • Applications can be completed online beginning mid-January. Each applicant will only complete one application and the online system will automatically pair you with scholarships for which you are eligible. The deadline for all applications to be submitted, including letters of recommendation, is mid-March. All applicants will be contacted regarding their application status by early July.  Specific deadlines can be found on our scholarship portal each year, which can be accessed through the “Apply” button on our Scholarships for Current High School Seniors page.
